Common Questions

Search for the answers you need to obtain some peace of mind during these uncertain times.
  • Q + A What If I’m Faced with Deportation?

If you fear that you are in danger of deportation or removal, call our firm immediately. A government attorney must prove the case against you. While a notice is far from a final verdict, the sooner you call, the sooner we can protect your stay in the U.S.

  • Q + A Why Hire Figueroa-Contreras Law Group?

The steps to gaining an employment or family visa can be complex, and the U.S. government examines applicants intensely. Our immigration attorney can help you to navigate the complexities of the legal process and avoid needless setbacks so you can begin the next chapter of your life.

  • Q + A How Do I Determine My Eligibility?

While it is true that there are a number of visas one can apply for, not everyone will qualify. Even if you believe you meet every criteria, you still must demonstrate how you qualify to the government. To understand your options, call our firm.

  • Q + A Does a Visa Make me a Citizen?

Not exactly. While visas are often one of the first steps towards citizenship, holders of each have very different rights. For example, citizens have the right to live in the U.S indefinitely and cannot be deported.

  • Q + A Does a Visa Expire?

Yes. The length of a visa depends on both its type and its holder’s situation. However, there are some visas which can be renewed, granting an immigrant a longer, uninterrupted stay in the United States. An expired visa can put its holder at risk of deportation.
